Ameni. We hope all is well for you today.
Lately, we've been thinking about Potential, and our possibilities, and we'd like to share these thoughts with you today.
Potential as an adjective is defined as "Capable of being but not yet in existence; latent or undeveloped." As a noun, it is defined as "The inherent ability or capacity for growth, development, or future success or The possibility that something might happen or result from given conditions." We as human beings, strive everyday for our potential. Everything we do, everything we see, and everything we even talk about is pertaining to the endless possibilities that we have as souls having a human experience. We are one of the most unique beings in this plane of existence in that not only do we actually have limitless potential, but we also have the ability to contemplate this limitless potential. No other creature physically on the planet can do this. This is why we should appreciate, honor, and ultimately, be responsible for our potential.
However, there are negative aspects to this limitless potential, as with all things. Although we have the ability to contemplate our potential, the biggest hinderance is focusing solely on this potential.
We talked about this in a previous blog post about presence, but this potential must be created NOW. As infinite as we can aspire to be, there must be action taken to realize the potential. This is where many of us can falter. We feel the weight of what we can accomplish, we see what we're capable of, and we often get scared, and lose gusto or zeal for life. Maybe we get afraid of what it could mean, or maybe we feel that the responsibility of what we gain from this potential is too much.
To not strive for your greatest potential is the one of the biggest disservices you could give to yourself, and to the world. How many people will be deprived of their greatest selves because they didn't see yours? How many more people will need your help, guidance, or expertise in their life because of the ways you chose to strive toward the limitless?
Tony Robbins once said, "You may not always reach your goals, but you will ALWAYS meet your standards." Meditate on this today. Ameni.
